something rather touching from Dave Osler at the end of his obit, the little details of a life

My last memory of him will not be of an orator in full flight, but as a man holding a carrier bag with one hand and his partner's arm with the other, while traipsing round Dalston Kingsland shopping centre on a Sunday afternoon.

Couldn't help thinking that the obituary in the Independent, (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/chris-harman-editor-of-socialist-worker-whose-intellectual-stature-gave-him-an-influence-beyond-party-ranks-1823003.html) by SWP colleague John Molyneux, was a little over the top though:

'At the time of his death he was, in my opinion, the foremost Marxist theorist in the world'. Really?

Know what you mean, unfortunately my Latin isn't sophisticated enought to be able to respond, 'it's one thing not to speak ill of the dead, quite another to excessively praise the dead to seemingly absurd lengths'
