The Spectrum plus 2 has just become my wallpaper. Perhaps wish-fulfillment because I had a 48k back in the day. Mind you, the plus 2 wasn't all that really, despite looking dead cool.

i had a vic 20 and then a c64...
always wanted a spectrum but as was the rule, i'd want something and my mum and dad would buy me something close, but wrong, coz they thought it was the more "sensible" option, bless 'em.
the spectrum was apparently too flimsy - BUT MUM, DAD THE GAMES!!!

i think that silver texas instruments one looks terrific.

My dad had one of these, the Tandy TRS-80:

It came with one game - Dancing Demon.

The box looked like this:

The game itself looked like this:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Let's Talk About Ceps
The game itself looked like this:

You can't knock him, he's got some pretty stylin' moves!

My brother and I had one of these:

I think our dad bought it for us in about 1989 when it was already hilariously obsolete. The upside of this being, the previous owner had had plenty of time to accrue a pretty decent collection of games. Space Invaders, Tetris and Frogger whiled away many happy hours, but it was Repton 3...

...that hooked us like a meth habit. :)

True - the "game" involved choreographing your very own Dancing Demon routine, by entering a series of text commands in a long list.

I am fond of Repton too.
