i go deep but like what kind of seal?

bobbin

What
i had always believed and continue to want to believe that on 'shame on a nigga' by the wu tang clan, odb has the lyric 'i go deep like a baby seal'.

then someone informed me they thought that he refers to a navy s.e.a.l.

would anyone care to clear this up or express an opinion?

thanks.

I always thought it was "baby seal" but I guess "Navy SEAL" makes more sense.

Now, I kick it hardcore but like what?

Porno flick pictures...? (as I always thought)

...or...

...porno flick bitches? (as Lois said on an episode of Family Guy)

What
sad, i did cherish the idea that odb was apt to think of himself in terms of a baby seal.

certainly bitches. porno flick pictures is an egregious pleonasm so i hardly think odb would have wrote it.

A famously pigheaded friend of mine, when we were at school, insisted that the vocal sample from Tears went 'Oscar, Oscar, My Baby', and derided me for thinking it was 'after laughter comes tears'. Even when faced with the evidence, namely:
1. the Wu song is called 'Tears'
2. The song it sampled is called 'After Laughter Comes Tears'
3. why the fuck would it be 'Oscar, Oscar, My Baby', especially with the Wu wanting to look all hard and that?,
he merely conceded we might 'both be right'. I might have a go at him about this tonight.

hahaha that's amazing.

i can't think of specific examples, but i seem to remember lots of that going on at school with lyrics.

I remember being told that the (what I know know to be) Screechie sample in SL2's On A Ragga Tip was Italian for 'Oi, fuck off, you stupid old git, you'. I don't think I believed it (I hope not anyway) but I do always sing those lyrics in my head when I hear that tune.

That one is actually correct.
