Nostalgia/Back in tha Dayz-themed hiphop tracks.

This here is a shout-out to anyone who can think of any great hiphop tracks that are 'nostalgia' themed. That doesn't just mean any track that makes you feel nostalgic (or we'd be here all day) - but tracks in which the subject matter is concerned with reminiscence about the past, growing up, life lessons, n shit. It doesn't have to, but usually the production should be 'warm' and evocative of the nostalgic feeling.

There's a lot of good tunes that are more about the 'present' - like Ice Cube's 'It was a Good Day' or De La Soul's '...Saturdays'. These don't qualify because they are about 'today' and not 'back in tha dayz'.

I believe these sorts of tracks express a big aspect of the spiritual qualities of hiphop, and usually every great artist will have at least one of this sort of tune in their oevre.

This is what we've got so far:

wu-tang - can it all be so simple?
rza - grits
gza - unexplained
nas - memory lane (sittin' in da park)
dizzee rascal - brand new day
curse ov dialect - sticks and stones
david banner - cadillac on 22's
2pac - changes
Biggy - Juicy
afroman - palmdale
the streets - weak become heroes
supreme ntm - Tout n'est pas si facile
freundeskreis - erste schritte
Wilson Wicked - weiter
pete rock & cl smooth - they reminisce over you
jazzy jeff n the fresh prince - summertime

This will go towards some sort of compilation or mixtape in the future.

since you sound very specific and me engrish is occasionally fuckled when it comes to the finer nuances, here's one & it's up to you to decide if it fits what you're looking for.

Marc Mac / Visioneers version is the better instrumental imo. but then, I'm biased with the R...
