With Rinse now being licensed, how does that work as far as the artists that played getting paid for it?

Does Rinse have to submit official playlists to the PRS? Do they now have to pay a certain % of revenues (if there are actually revenues...)? Or does a "community" license mean the artists get paid (a little) out of the larger fund that the station doesn't contribute to? It's like that for community (i.e. campus) radio here.

It's interesting to me. Here in N. America the solution to pirate radio is shutting them down, quickly, not making them legit.

I hadn't thought of that. I've been receiving it crystal-clear in my iTunes Podcast window. I'm guessing that's a royalty no-man's-land.
