in terms of production, depth of mood and craft, the new isolee album has everything that james blake's seems to be missing, well i thought that when i heard em back to back the other night, i was off my mash on peas and gravy though:)

really feeling the 'Forward Motion' EP from Hot Natured (Jamie Jones & Lee Foss) at the moment, although I think it's gonna be on every commercial playlist (kiss, radio 1 etc) by the end of the summer. No doubt I'm rinsing it to pieces while it's still listenable.

Also, been a bit late on picking it up, as it was dropped in 2010 but "Jacuzzi Boys & Nils Weimann Manoi" is a cracking tune

including the no1.

count yourself lucky, then. the Hot Creations / Visionquest stuff, which has seemingly taken over house this year, is really dull.

Hawtin, Villalobos, Luciano, Digweed, Sven Vath and Sasha could all retire and they'd still make it in the top 20.

Yup, and I'd add Crosstown Rebels to those two. I've really tried with that stuff, but I just don't get the appeal. Actually no, I get the appeal - "quirky" yet simple disco and pop influenced tech house with vocals - but I just find it incredibly dull for the most part. Although, as trilliam pointed out, there's no arguing these guys have had a huge year both in terms of popularity and in terms of positive feedback from critics (mostly RA).

Btw, can anyone post a link to the RA list? I've gone to the site and it gives me an error message everytime I click on it.

Surprised Theo is only at 69 - although I am a bit of a fanboy!

Surprised Floating Points wasn't in the list at all either.

I think the Hot Creations stuff is incredibly standard - although I haven't payed too much attention to it.

I always take RAs opinion with a massive lump of salt although I did enjoy that they gave Far Nearer 1.5/5 considering I thought they'd be in love with that!

Cheers, but that didn't work either. For some reason I keep getting a 404 - Page Not Found everytime I click on either RA list. Did any of the "post dubstep" guys other than Ben UFO make the list?

Anyway, I'm more interested in their albums list so hopefully this will be sorted by then.

just picked up maurice fulton's latest cd as boof called "shhh, dandelions at play", so cool. like a live band playing proggy house (as opposed to "progressive house"), lots of jamming set to a typical off-kilter fulton vibe, like if theo parrish had a funk band. never heard any of his boof stuff before (this is his 3rd boof album), nice treat to end to year!
