i played a load of grime when i went to france to lyon, paris and lille last feb , it was very funny they didn't know how to react at all, they liked armshouse cos they recognised le roast beef sounds of madness, they danced all jerky to it.
Lille which is on the border of belgium liked it incredibly hard, they were'nt happy unless their heads hurt and the one that had taken too many drugs that they came with was convulsing.
paris people are weird, they find it very difficult to have actual fun.

I caught Plasticman amongst the Rephlex disco assault system at last year's Nordik Impakt festival in Cannes. (I must add I didn't know what he was playing at the time, being pretty non educated on the grime front then).

It seemed to go down really well there I'm sure Jammer's hype will send the crowd into a frenzy.

Picked up that TTC "Batards Sensibles " the other week - its good stuff. The beats are very similar to what you hear in UK Grime.

Do you know if it was a conscious choice to do the Grime sound, or more of an accident, with influences coming from Crunk etc...?

I was supposed to be playing in Paris the same night but it fell thru - maybe because they decided to book Jammer and co.

I'm playing in Lyon on the 5th May - http://smokersdieyounger.free.fr/prog.htm Some event called PI days doing a B2B with Ed DMX.

France is wicked - I've had a few good gigs there! They particularly like the vocal stuff so I reckon Jammer, D Double and Ears will do well.

Hey man - unfortunately I won't be able to pass thru! Would have been great to pop down and check it out tho. I'm flying back to the UK on the 6th cos I'm in Stockholm on the 7th so i need to be home that day unfortunately.

However I'm playing in Paris in June probably alongside Slaughter Mob and Search & Destroy so we'll defo hook up then.
