Came across this band very randomly.

I think their on the same label as Ariel Pink (4AD) and few other odd bands. I could never really get into Aerial Pink despite many attempts and most of the bands on 4AD. But this band however has got me by the short hairs

I came across this band via another band by the name of "Inc."

These bands remind me of Animal Collective somehow.

Saw this band a few weeks ago- really cool. Even the tracks which weren't melodically memorable had a good sort of Afro funk groove to them. Although the live band had 2 saxophonists, which is at least 2 too many. And cos she uses loop pedals, all the songs start the same, ie with her putting the rhythm track together a bit at a time.

makes me think a lot of dirty projectors - the guys singing sounds very influenced by them anyway

MatthewH

makes strange noises.
Tuneyards lived here in Montreal for a bunch of years. She's utterly mastered the art of laying beats in a looper.

She was in a band called Sister Suvi that was also really good but disbanded when she signed to 4AD.

Now one of the other guys is Pat Jordache:

Also good, though less strikingly so.
