I was on strike today and went on a protest march for the first time in my life. One of the speakers at the rally addressed us as 'comrades', which made me feel all revolutionary :)

Anyone got any idea of the total number of strikers countrywide? Edit: beeb quotes a union estimate of "up to 2 million" - that's quite good, isn't it? How big is the UK's public sector overall?

How many people were out in Glasgow?

One of the speakers at the rally said about 20,000, news estimates were between 5 and 10,000
