In the last nine months L.A.-based composer Julia Holter has released two exquisite, enchanting albums - 'Tragedy' and 'Ekstasis' - to widespread acclaim.

Online record store Boomkat placed 'Tragedy' at the top of their 2011 "best of" album chart, saying "A stunning, stunning album and an absolute must regardless of the kind of music you usually listen to", whilst Fact magazine said "the most remarkably sophisticated derangement of the senses I've heard in 2011", and Pitchfork awarded it an 8.0.

Her music defies classification, so we won't even try. It's just incredibly beautiful.

Faktion and our friends from Comfortable On A Tightrope would like to invite you to this special performance as part of her three-date UK tour.

It'll take place at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation, which is located a stones throw from the former BBC building on Oxford Road, Manchester city centre.

Capacity is limited to **100** seats and we expect these to sell out before the show.

Doors will open for seating at 8pm, followed by a support slot at 8.15pm from The Boats' Andrew Hargreaves who will play a Tape Loop Orchestra set.
