The writing's really picked up since the first episode.

- "The President always sticks with the incumbent..."
- "Yeah, plus, he doesn't wanna look like he made a massive mistake picking you."

"You have the social skills of someone who was raised by wolves"

- "Not all these people are bereaving so just talk generally"
- "Talk generally about what, the weather?!"
- "Not the weather... it is unseasonably warm though"

Saw the first few and have forgotten about it since I must admit. I'm a huge Thick of It fan but what I've seen of Veep has disappointed me a little, I have hardly laughed at all. Mind you it might be a matter of getting to know the characters, as is so often the case with comedies.

I will always respect Iannucci for Alan Partridge but this and The Thick Of It, while providing a few cheap laughs, just make me question what he's contributing beyond a politics-based Larry Sanders tribute.
