No-one else following this? Pretty funny the US getting all sniffy and claiming to have been let down by all the allies they've been spying on.
Hope for his sake they don't catch him though.

I saw this a year ago and couldn't understand then why it wasn't bigger news: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/23/opinion/the-national-security-agencys-domestic-spying-program.html?smid=tw-share&_r=2&

If the US expects its whistleblowers to stick around and be tried it should stop pretending they're guilty under the Espionage Act and use something more proportionate, their equivalent of Official Secrets. Also probably best not to subject them to "cruel and unusual punishment" a la Manning. They really are such cunts.

also this is good http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/johncassidy/2013/06/demonizing-edward-snowden-which-side-are-you-on.html?mobify=0

"...the UK government literally does not understand how the Internet works, and that its latest attempt to bring in a Snooper's Charter is not just dangerous and misguided but fundamentally unworkable."

in any case:
"Documents released today confirm GCHQ, the UK intelligence agency, is hacking computers in the United Kingdom without individual warrants."

So any expectation of privacy, before or after RIPA was a fantasy anyway...
