Oddly enough he uncharacteristically fluffed a load of challenges and passes last night - disappointing seeing as O'Neill was calling him a 'home' player to justify his lack of inclusion. Glad to see his quality shone through in the end.

Yeah and he overhit the cross for the goal. He has a terrible shot on him, too, for such a good technical player. Anyway, I think he's probably ahead of Ruel Fox now in my list of favourite Norwich players so I'm glad he's getting a run in the Ireland team, even if it's a few years later than it should've been.

Nah, that was on purpose. ;)

One of the many gripes with Trapattoni is the fact that he deliberately excluded Hoolihan, amongst other good players.

I think thats harsh on hoolahan and generous to trap. We've needed someone with his ability for years. This goes back to Charlton's insistence on the physical and the long ball over all else, even when we had a team made up almost entirely of top flight players.
