Beast of Burden
I just got this swell compilation called Our Man in Rome, a set of scores and songs from the 1960s Italian spy movie cycle. It’s a prequel to the brilliant Sexy Voices CD which I got ten years ago from the sadly deceased Movie Grooves website and which could often be heard wafting through the History and Politics section at Foyles in the mid-Noughties. Morricone, Nicolai, Piccioni, Bacalov, Fidenco all well accounted for.
I like to listen to this stuff all year, but even more at this time of year than the rest of it. It most suits the season. Please post any Euro Film Soundtracks that you loved or discovered, not necessarily Italian, and the more obscure or unusual the better.
