Is Showtime as good as Boy In...?

many people will say no, this may be because the album is different from 'boy in the corner' , showtime is less murkey less grimey, so maybe there was less to grab onto for many listeners, dizzee is also using different programs and sounds to 'boy in tha' as well

having said that though i would like to know how trapped and give u more didn't make to the album, maybe to boost single sales, i dunno

i 'reckon' the album is good though, especially after a few good listens, the same was with wiley's album. the first time i listened to both it was the off key tracks like dizzee's dreams & wileys special girl which haunted me for days

but after a few listens the real choons came through , and both haven't been far from reach since

can't be stopped
Dizzee, Wiley, Annie, Trick Daddy, Favela Booty Beats, Arthur Russell CDs, David Banner, Trillville/Lil Scrappy, Madvillainy, MM Food, Kanye West, M Mayer, MIA/Diplo, Devin the Dude, Superpitcher, Luomo, Lucien-N-Luciano, Ghostface, Erlend Oye's DJ Kicks, Brandy, Scissor Sisters, RJD2, Diplo, Kiley Dean, Ragga Ragga Ragga 2004, Theodore Unit, Felix Da Housecat, Streets, 3-6 S&C, Jada's "The Champ is Here," Bhangra Masti 2.

That's what I've really liked I guess.
I always feel more ashamed of my album lists than my singles lists, though.
I can list singles and be like "that song is beautiful and I'm CONFIDENT in my opinion about how great that song is." With albums though...blah.

100% No Soul Guaranteed
It haven't been a good year for albums I think. Nevertheless, my favorites would be:

Overcast: 3PM Eternal (Bloody Fist (RIP))
LFO Demon: Genocide Memoria (Sprengstoff)
Like A Tim & Gina v. D'Orio: Bass Girl (Like Records)
Null Object: I Saw Machines but I Heard Monsters (Null)
Einstürzende Neubauten: Perpetuum Mobile (Mute)
Felix Kubin: Matki Wandalki (A-Musik)
Mark One: One Way (Planet MU)
Wiley: Treddin' on Thin Ice (XL)

A couple of them mini-LPs rather than albums, actually.

Really looking forward to the new Candie Hank album coming in november, too.

Oh, and Showtime is OK, but nowhere near a favorite. Too long and uneven.

geez, i can only come up with Showtime by Dizzee Rascal..im so unhip :(
Cheer up, I've only heard a handful of the albums listed so far. I'll admit to not having really thought very much about my favourite non-jazz albums this year.

Grievous Angel

Beast of Burden
Haven't bought any albums this year.

But John Eden bought me Coughing Up Fire, which is Saxon Sound in full flow from a 1985 session which is dominated by bubblin' DJs -- it's virtually accapella. Absolutely astounding record.

I got an ace track out of it too.

Mix of the year is probably a Soundmurderer one.

I think Tanya Stephens "Gangsta Blues" is the only 2004 album I have heard. So, that one.

LOL at Martin's trance comment, tho. :D

If you hear two albums from 2004, the other one should be Creature Comforts.

Righty ho. Does it have that bloke from the Fugees on it tho?

Actually, according to my blog, I also managed to blag copies of the following this year:

Mad Professor/Crazy Caribs (Ariwa)
v/a Godspunk vol 2 (Pumf)
Charlie Eskimo Fox
The Bug - Aktion Pak (Rephlex, phle phle phle phlex)

I'm not counting singles tho. But I am counting The Bug as an album, cos it is.

Anyway, all of these are good but The Bug is the only one up there with Tanya. Ahhhh Tanya...
