Saddam in His Underpants on Cover of Sun and NY Post

Has anyone seen this? Disgusting absence of journalistic scruples, and probably a violation of Geneva Convention rules covering the treatment of detainees. Considering how the American press has been under fire recently for fanning the flames of Muslim hatred, it's interesting that rather than backing off under the pressure, Mr. Murdoch is giving a big middle finger to the world by publishing a full size photo of the enemy with his pants down, literally.

Oh bollocks. If you saw Hitler with his pants down you'd have a good laugh. Revelling in Saddam's degradation is no more supportive of mutilating Iraqi working class kids than hating the Nazis means you'd snigger over Dresden.

True enough, but the fact that it will give fuel to the fire of certain anti-Western factions is surely a good enough reason not to publish it? After all, we all know that the only reason these pictures were published was to get people like Luka (who I'm assuming from his comment doesn't usually buy The Sun) to give their money to News International. It's just porn really.

I must say though that I've been amused by the US authorities sudden concern for the Geneva Convention...

Good looking bitch, though, isn't he?

actually, yes, i think he is very good looking -- bear in mind he's over 60 now -- but now matter what age he has been, he's always looked good for his age

the only time he didn't look good was when they captured him after he'd been on the run for a few months, and then it apparently took him several more weeks to recover his looks -- which i suppose means that there's at least one iraqi prisoner well-kept and well-fed by the u.s. army
