i think there may be too many hoops to jump through

i.e., register w/ the mp3 service, then they'll send you the code -- but if you have a spam blocker for your e-mail account, then you likely won't receive the code, etc

come again?

does that mean you are having trouble downloading the tracks? all you have to do is right click the links posted next to the track names - if not all you do then is click on the link in my sig, go to the music section and then right click the MP3 link....

if anyone else is having trouble then please post the problem....

well i heard one beat. i thought the quality was high, both sonically and musically, it didnt sound amateurish or anything, so good job there!

the one i heard was kinda old school UKG-sounding. i dont necesarily see that as a bad thing though, i mean, SLK's hype hype beat was UKG sounding, just an observation.

thanks man....we try, try lol....

pretty and harmless.

without having listened on proper speakers or loud enough (I'm at the office):

here's a bit of hopefully constructive criticism: these tracks need more work. in terms of textures, unpredictability, depth of field, instrumental variation, progression, dynamic composition, and just plain "oomph". the bass lines are a bit noodle-y and go no where. the percussion programming is basic and lack intrigue. if you are going for a UKG-Lite sound maybe more melodic content? how about some really sweet keys?

bravo on the effort. keep working is my advice.

i actually really liked the way the tracks were quite minimal, with new layers and sounds being added very gradually. so i thought the 'progression' in the tracks was really good. was also impressed by how good the bass sounded- nice and pure and thick.

one thing i did wonder, though, was what the intended role for these tracks is: they don't seem tailor-made for MCs, yet they're not really err 'bangin' enough for clubs, and not dark enough for dubstep mixes. of course, being out in yr own sound-world is no bad thing...

listening on my studio monitors the tracks had plenty of "oomph". I agree that the bass has plenty of weight without being overbearing.

they do have a kind of restrained sound, but I'm sure that's a stylistic choice and certainly gives the tunes a coherent theme. they'd sound good dropped in between more aggro stuff, I reckon... good DJ sets are so often about dynamics and there will always be a slot for "rollers" like these tunes to bring a different flavour into a club night to let people lock in more and dance instead of just being rowdy non-stop.

I like the fact that they're not trying to be dark and menacing... you guys have flipped similar sounds to those used by darker producers and taken them in a different direction and that's certainly not a bad thing.

thanks man!

in the track I did I first started trying to make something that would jus be raw enough for an MC to eat but then I started messing with the drum patterns and then it went somewhere else....

nii-o is totally in his own world of sound....he jus does what he likes....we try not to do the same thing twice so the new stuff is different....when it comes to garage we're jus tryna explore building sound and exploring it space rather than jus supplying aggression and aggy riffs though the aggy stuff we have is very aggy lol....

these tracks are jus meant to showcase what we can do....we didn't mind giving them out for free cos we have a lot of heat stored up....

yo thanks a lot!

props goes to Boy Wonder on the engineering....

these aren't so much MC tracks but tunes to make people think about the possibilities of garage/NUKG/grime....a close friend, DJ Gummer who plays on OnTop FM and Silk FM, describes our overall sound as being caught between garage/grime and dubstep....

hopefully DJ's will take some chances and then you can hear the new stuff soon....

the criticism is constructive....thanks!

all I can really say is that the stuff we have coming up should satisfy all those areas you highlighted....these tracks are jus to show some of what we can do....

I have to say in defence of the percussion/drum programming that some of the stuff I hear on pirates is way more basic than our stuff but I can see/hear what you mean....

we were jus going for what we liked....the first people we think about satisfying aurally is ourselves otherwise we don't continue with a track....

thanks again....
