how fucking amazing is this guy's work? just saw the mid-career retrospective. one of the most strange and wild imaginations I've ever encountered. baby bird skeleton made with fingernail clippings, holes punched through an advertising poster re-organised to form a third eye on the model... like a mischievious child's mind guided by occult teachings with the discipline of a scientist.

He's great. I love the ordinary objects that are secretly clocks; he makes tiny mechanisms that allow for hairs on a brush to actually function as clock hands, all barely perceptible to the eye.

10:02 did you just see the same exhibition recently or saw the clock pieces a long time ago?

there are several pieces not in this show that i love...

one with the severed limbs of manniquins joined together in kind of a grotesque abstract sculpture, each surface of a cut has rubber or skin stretched over it, becoming a drum, about 10 or 15 drums all together, facing all different directions, some upside down. and there are these tiny little wooden drummers he made, each hooked up to a motor and all to a timer of some sort, beating this really cool rhythm...
