Anything interesting, really... but preferably punk, post-punk, new wave, krautrock, c86, psych of all eras, industrial, electro, italo...

With this exception of Kingofcars suggestions, this confirms my suspicion that there probably are no good internet radio stations or podcasts. Which reminds me -- testing out iTunes' new podcast feature: is this it? This is what modern pirate transmission, free of regulation, has to offer? (I imagine that iTunes is not ground zero for cutting edge podcasts, in no small part due to copyright issues, but still, I would love to be corrected.)

There are no restrictions on which podcasts you can subscribe to in iTunes - copyright issues do not come into it. You just need to go to Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast and paste in the RSS URL provided by the broadcaster you're interested in.

What's needed are more efficient directory sites which will help guide you to suitable broadcasters. The only ones I've found so far are a bit messy:

http://www.podcast.net/tag/music

I simply meant that I assume iTunes does not host podcasts that feature uncleared copyrighted music...

Come 'round my house...we'll play some tunes, drink some beer and fool around. Strictly no fucking C86, though.

I admit my apprehension of the 'genre' is limited... is it just darker British guitar music? Or is it twee or jangle or what?

Well, no wank for me then. Care to make me a mix? (You can talk on it if you like. Then it will be a podcast.)

listen to PUSH on East Village Radio by Cowboy Mark on Mondays from 4 to 6 pm -- all electro/italo, if that's your thing

and then 6 to 8 pm slot on Mondays is hit or miss -- my friends often guest dj the 6 to 7 pm slot -- and bryant k does the 7 to 8 pm slot and he's got some very cool 80s stuff (however, his collection is so expansive, that you can't really predict what he'll play)

and on Friday from 6 to 8pm, there's the Fader Crew -- kinda on the hollertronix tip, but not bad

You are wrong. Shitloads of them do feature uncleared music, some of the casts even feature adverts ...
Loads of them begging "vote for me" on podcastalley etc.

the best ones I've found are:
Marvin Suicide for mostly electronic stuff at http://www.marvinsuicide.org/
Warren Ellis' Mixtapes (no talk) at http://www.warrenellis.com/index.php?cat=27

and if you want to take the piss out of Nessie - I am also dabbling over at
Acecast - http://www.acecast.com (try number four for some electronic goodness)

all of the above only playing free legal MP3s, none of them listed in iTunes yet
(although I think marvin is in the process).
