US tax dollars well spent - the FEMA rap

Disaster . . . it can happen anywhere,
But we've got a few tips, so you can be prepared
For floods, tornadoes, or even a 'quake,
You've got to be ready - so your heart don't break.

Disaster prep is your responsibility
And mitigation is important to our agency.

People helping people is what we do
And FEMA is there to help see you through
When disaster strikes, we are at our best
But we're ready all the time, 'cause disasters don't rest.

peek-a-boo
is that for real?! apparently so. i'm sure everyone was singing it to keep their spirits up in the Superdome.

they might as well have just limited it to the one line:

Disaster prep is your responsibility
ie. not ours.

any other propaganda songs worth a look? i recently disocvered this one, from 2001 and probably well known to some: 'Privatisation', a big hit in Tanzania and co-written by the Adam Smith Institute and John Komba, designed to encourage people to let global corporations take over their public services.
