i was going to see that bloke who does white noise sets by wiping his face across plate glass on this night, but unsurpisingly i'll be, er, repping at the ruff sqwad + logan show instead. can't wait...

Please make this happen, sounds great!
I went to the beats showcase last thursday at Plan B and had a quick chat with slicks and tinchy.
I missed their performance though, which is too bad.

Any more word on whether this is going ahead?

Yes it is going ahead !

The Whitechapel are sorting out some promotion for me (a bit slow for my liking), but Ruff Sq and Logan have confirmed (I said 'details to follow' i.e. time/price etc - that it was going ahead once I posted it up here, was never in doubt)...

The night is a kind of pilot for the Whitechapel gallery as they move to having an ICA style venue. 3 others are also 'curating' (haha) live music nights before christmas...the ones that go well will get a regular monthly. My pitch was about 'showcasing grime acts' - so it'd be great if you could pitch in support for this trial night in order to get some more in the future.

Darned cockwombles.
Looking forward to it....

On a bit of a side note, does anyone know when all these Ruff Sqwad tunes everyone is always talking about on Dissensus are gonna be released in some form (ideally a mix CD)? Whenever anyone refers to one of their tunes, it's never on Guns 'n' Roses or any other mixtape I have. I guess the transition time from white label to CD is one of the things hampering grime at the moment....

Unfortunately Logan Sama has pulled out from deejaying at the night (with the fairly decent excuse of having to pick up some best-underground DJ-award-or-other).

I’m looking for a replacement – preferably someone with a bit of a profile – but with four days to go, beggars can’t be choosers.

If anyone thinks they can cobble together a decent grime set to perform alongside Ruff Sqwad – drop me an email at davidcmoynihan@yahoo.co.uk (though no guarantees)

Unfortunately with the comprehensive booking service www.bookagrimedj.com not yet up-and-running and with only a few days to go, I have to ring around, send a few emails, contact the specialist record shops and stick messages up at boards populated by grimesters. It puzzles me why you think this is so inappropriate?
