I recently found this online, however the 'bootleg' has horrible CD skips which is driving me totally INSANE, especially in light of the AWESOME flow of this set.
It's basically the Sonny Sharrock Quintet with Pharoah Sanders performing live @ DC World Jazz Festival in 1993. Both are in absolutely transcendent form.Sanders funky, smooth sax runs often breaking in extreme blasts and shrieks of timbred noise in perfect sync with Sharrocks' sloppy, choppy and fuzzed out strangulated guitar. They've got a Doug Wimbish-like bass player and a keyboard/synth player who at times sounds like Eddie-Van Halen on 'Jump'!! It jazz-rock done sublimely well, made more incredible that it was recorded in the 90s!!!
Anyway this set is pure sonic platinum, and if any Dissensans have a 'de skipped' version of it, I willing to trade, buy, bless etc.. for it. Please PM me if you have. Many thanks. B6
