I've been puzzling for weeks with my 'REAL' non-internerd musical expert friends over the name of a late 90s NYC band...
These are the clues and I'm certain someone here will know their name:
1. Late 90s NYC guitar band with retro-but-modern strong organ sound.
2. They sound a bit like The Boys Next Door - 'Birthday Party' album, the Inspiral Carpets and the Seeds. They were a kinda neo-garage-punk almost 80s nu-wave type band and were a few years ahead of their time.
3. They were on Geffen Records
4. The were a 5 piece of white pretty-boys, their photos were taken by Richard Kern.
5. They toured with Blur in the UK.
Thats all I can recall for now, I can't beleive I've had such an astonishing blank with this band and found it impossible to locate via the Net (even on allmusic.com!)
Thanks
