Has Anyone Been Watching Weeds?

IMHO - the best program on TV this year. Funny, dark, and subversive for US/UK TV, especially given the current media attitudes to drugs. Seeing someone on E laughing themselves silly, and then not going on to stick a needle in their arm/mug an old lagy, die of heat exhaustion (as per the normal moral panics) is refreshing.

Much better than Desperate Housewives and Lost in my book anyway!

Reasonably well-written yet mildly insulting all the same. Rather than sidestepping all the obvious issues of a suburban housewife dealing in order to maintain her lifestyle while dealing with her suppliers, customers, etc. it's fairly out in the open -- but not at all serious. There have been enough minor incidents to shape the plot, but wouldn't most of these things have a greater effect on someone's life? It's as if the entire script is on zoloft.

The dialog of the black family who supplies her product is like some bad parody of what suburban white people think black people sound like half the time. Is there a character that isn't a bad stereotype?
