I need to buy some solid record boxes designed for stacking pon top of one another. 12" size.

Does anyone know somewhere in the ***UK*** that makes these?

that s 5 pieces of cheap wood nailed together!!! that s absurd pricing.

in north america your best bet is "imperial" milk crates.

thats what i got, tons of crates (the milk crates arent big enough though). Id like to find someone to build a quality shelving unit like they got on that website.

I would try myself, but livin in the city, I dont have a woodshop.

I have been looking for this kind of thing too. Milk crates these days are too small for records, and the ones at Crate & Barrel are not stackable. A frustrating online search only lead me to this:

which is exactly what I need. Has anyone found this type of crate anywhere else? I'd rather not have it shipped to me, but to find one in person. Or maybe shop around online a bit more.

Get thee down to Ikea if you've got one close... they do these http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stor...11499&langId=-20&parentCats=15561*15639*15651 which are perfect. I've got some in the bigger size & they hold tons of records.. the shelves are absolutely the right size; just a bit taller than records, to leave you space to get 'em out.

I've gone for IVAR at Ikea http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stor...ts=15561&storeId=7&catalogId=10103&langId=-20

If you get the 7 ft tall uprights you can fit 6 rows of records (duh) and you can get 12" wide shelves to make square shelves holding about 100 LPs. Hang on let me see if I can sort out a picture...

Yeah, your right, that ikea thing does look good, but its cheap because its chipboard and it does become flexible,as the fibres become more and more softer due to moisture etc, unlike MDF. which is more of a solid state. Its the density that counts. :D
