Went to Trash @ the end last night, and their mysterious secret band turned out to be the Slits...
Apparently they're recording new material - they played a couple of new songs, along with "shoplifiting", "fm", "man next door". Musically, I quite enjoyed it, but everyone else I was with thought it was terrible. Ari's chatter and the reggae references seemed somewhat at odds with the crowd - I really felt that "depressing hedonia" that Mark K-punk talks about in the overdressed indie kids...
I think they're playing some other gigs in London this week, thursday but I didn't catch where.
