please use this thread to post info on your favorite net-labels.

I ll start with Signal Zero from france Signal Zero

they have 7 releases so far , mostly on the ambiant/illbient tip but in their own words :

"All electronic types of wild and radical electronic music are welcome mainly from ambient to speedcore, including electronica, hardcore, breakcore and all possible interpolations of these."

IMHO Tzii "swampritual" is the winner here

This Mexican web label mainly releases clicky microhouse and ambient releases. No surprise that artists like Murcof and Fax drop in for some remix action on a couple of releases.

I'm certainly not sold on everything, but there's plenty of material in there that blows me away. The super sparse choppy Latin / hip-hop cut ups of Kampion make for a fun diversion from the clicks and synths.

Jahtari: Digital Laptop Reggae

This label impresses me largely because it's so damn different from the huuge amount of techy stuff out there. Particularly into label boss Disrupt's stuff - really fits the site brief, crunchy videogame type electronics meet great reggae feels. And it's often lively and fun, not either overly blunted or super-clean sounding.

Dumb site design - asking you to download a font seems daft and the catalogue is pretty hard to navigate. Ah well.

Monohm

Sorry, just one more. ;) This one's from Austria, largely release the output of a couple of artists, Monohm and Markus Broessel. The former does stuff that's a bit like .. hmm... SND? Shuttle 358? Soft and quiet, some drones but some vaguely house-like stabs and every now and then syncopated beats come in... The latter does piano pieces that are very minimal and washed out. I don't like 'em so much, but they remind me a little of that Eno & Budd album (Ambient2? Ambient 3?).

I never know quite what to say, but I reckon Confucius would like it. :)

This is 3 out of 5 of the net labels I watch closely...

Here's my card records is a small "buisness card cd/net-label" out of Toronto Canada.

The stuff is mostly very aggressive and noisy breakcore, digital hardcore and a ton of stuff by local and not so local "artists"

amazing.

Thinner/Autoplate is an "older" netlabel.

the stuff is mostly techy/housey/quirky and they also have a sub-label called Autoplate for
more ambiant or experimental releases.

some almost famous people have released on Thinner i m told.

d-trash records is another netlabel out of Toronto specializing in digital hardcore.

some common ground with wheresmycard but more influenced by german digihardcore.

very prolific label with possibly over 100 releases to date.

Grevious Angel blog just posted about a mix hosted there

"Uncarved correspondent and reggae archivist Pete Murdertone has done a fabbo mix for Jahtari showcasing the eighties digidub sound which is such an important precursor of dubstep, and before that garage, and before that, acid house."

very enjoyable too bad there s no direct mp3 download though.

Technically not a netlabel but C8 has been hosting tons of mp3's for various labels over the years.

the big ones here are the Praxis, Ambush and Zhark catalogs.

the search interface is great and makes sorting through all those artists/labels very easy.

my personal fav' here is the cavage back catalog , real cataphile musak.

Afterbeat is a small Dub/Roots netlabel from Poland!!

IMHO the stuff is ok , not so impressive when they do roots , much better on the digi/rmx side of things. But that could just be me ..

This is my mate decanids' netlabel, it's mostly electronic, glitchy, IDM and electro type stuff.

absolutely must second yr recommendation, as decadnids is just about the most unsung techno producer on the planet right now. deep character, as well, with absolutely fantabulous taste in music. seriously, if the notion of coil and bytes-era black dog collaborating on an album appeals at all, his music is absolutely something your life may well be incomplete without...
