Having been confronted with the sensory overload that is 2nd hand record shopping in Japan, the question of where on earth to start now becomes that much more urgent :p

So I`d love to hear peoples techniques on how I can go out there with at least some idea of what I should be looking for. Blogs, mixes and word of mouth? Is there a better way?

The sheer volume of the BBC radio output is pretty staggering. Check this link where each of these is a radio station broadcasting 24-7 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/. Check it on 'listen again' at any time.

I recommend specialist 1Xtra, specialist Radio 1 and the Asian Network.
