Could someone tell me what this record ?
1989 brooklyn beats chop up of Yazoo's 'Don't Go' . Rather lovely.
Who is it and what's it called - heard it on an old school pirate.

thanks !

Good idea for a thread, as I have a question of this nature.

An erstwhile colleague of mine made me an 'Electro' compilation a while back. All old school rap and 'freestyle' stuff. Anyway, there is one particular song on there which is fucking amazing, and I can't really figure out what it is.

It's labelled as 'Stop The Rock', by Street Jams. Google turns nothing up on this. I know it's not Freestyle's 'Don't Stop The Rock', though the basic melody is the same.

This version is about 8 minutes long, breaks down and builds back up twice in an epic manner and has what is essentially the earliest snare rush I can think of (though I'm probably wrong, as this is not my area of expertise).

So yeah, sounds like 'Don't Stop The Rock', but isn't. Is very long. Has bizarrely rock dynamics. And is one of the greatest tracks I have ever heard. The sub-bass is fucking crazy on it as well.

Any ideas?
