MC: BRENT CLOUGH from ABC Radio National

THE LOOP ORCHESTRA Formed 24 years ago, their sound is created solely from tape loops made from quarter-inch tape and
played on reel-to-reel tape machines - a technique that had its origins in the beginnings of electronic music in the 1950s. For
HI-ATE-US THE LOOP ORCHESTRA return to Artspace, host of their 21st anniversary performance in 2003.
LOUISE CURHAM Working solely with super 8 film, LOUISE CURHAM has collaborated with dancers and has shown films in a
number of "improvised" settings (warehouses, galleries etc) in Australia and New Zealand. Recently she has collaborated
with the English experimental music maker Mike Cooper. Curham also collaborated with THE LOOP ORCHESTRA for a
performance with Chris Abrahams at What Is Music in 2005. Her super 8 film loops have accompanied performances by
THE LOOP ORCHESTRA since 2004.

CLEAN AIR CAMPAIGN Emanating from the bucolic torpur of new in/authenticity CLEAN AIR CAMPAIGN produce a ruined,
degenerate sound of broken industry. Instruments may include slide guitar, glockenspiel, synthesizer, voice, Casio, tape...
BRUCE LICHER Originally from Los Angeles, now based in Arizona, BRUCE LICHER has featured in several post punk bands,
most notably Savage Republic who having formed in the early 1980s remain a seminal downtown Los Angeles
industrial/rock/experimental band. Licher mainly works as a graphic artist, designing numerous record covers. In addition to
a screening of Licher's little-known experimental films of 1979 and 1980 HI-ATE-US will feature a display of a selection of
Licher's graphic works.

IAN ANDREWS An independent film, video and sound artist who has been practising since 1981, IAN ANDREWS has worked
extensively in electronic music and has also made digital animation and net art. He has had several of his essays on sound
published and has spoken at several local and international conferences. Andrews has recently been concentrating on
making video work.

XNOBBQX Matt Earle and Nick Dan are XNOBBQX, a regressive Sydney/Blue Mountains-based guitar and drum duo .
Freed from the rock animal's body, the ungrounded electricity unleashed by this improv theatre group has been taped to a
jerking flow of primitive pounding, synchronous sludge and autistically charged rhythms.
