Somewhere between 'Releases' and Misc 'Moving to ...'

I knew it was coming but today's NY Times front page article on the selling of our (big)
Apartment complex Stuyvesant Town adds a frisson to Friday's trip to Tokyo.
My wife Noyuri's family is there and so sure, they would all love us to come and live in Tokyo.
I like the idea too and so we have planned for it for a few years already.
But have to make $ there and look out for the Big one , yiy ...

In the releases Dept.
i'd just like anyone interested to know:

* The new DCC ( aka Death Comet Crew) 'Drag Racing' is lead cut on the VA
'From The Powerhouse' 12" Ep released by Berlin's Meteosound/Shitkatapult in late July...

VARIOUS ARTISTS From The Power House (Meteosound) Rock/Abstract
Hip-Hop/Minimal Techno
One of Germany's most exciting and musically adventurous labels continues
to perk the ears of those in the know with this well-varied V.A. EP. The
Death Comet crew sets the tone with their gritty brand of rock/hip-hop
fusion, featuring the rough and rugged lyrical delivery of Rammellzee. From
here, we're treated to the high tech, cut-up glitch-hop of the Echo Depth
Finders, before Bus breaks it down in a Herbert meets Theo Parrish style.
The goodtimes continue on the B, as Daniel Mateo and Micromate each
contribute their sonically inspiring and utterly futuristic visions of
modern electronic music. Great label, great artists and great music,
deserving of your undivided attention. (Dean DeCosta)

Various: From the Powerhouse
Meteosound, 2006
This odd vinyl EP juxtaposes the otherworldly philosophies of graffiti
legend Rammellzee with dubby electronic music from Berlin. First up on
„'Drag Racing' DCC (Death Comet Crew) provide a funky, guitar-heavy jam for
Rammellzee to rant over. It‚s the wildest, punkiest hip-hop around.
(Trackdown the excellent Bi-Conicals Of The Rammellzee on Gomma for more of the
same style.) „Dreaming U‰ by Siberian duo Echo Depth Finders is
cut-up hip-hop in the Prefuse 73 vein. An MC stutters over a dubby bassline
and a glitchy beat. Daniel Meteo and Tom Thiel‚s Bus project wraps up
the A side with „Soundberg,‰ an uptempo, bass-heavy instrumental track full
of sound effects.
The B side kicks off with Daniel Meteo‚s „Dub Rock.‰ Guitar fragments and
reverbed clicks swim in a rolling bass soup, making for a beautiful track.
Micromate wraps up this supposed tribute to Jamaica‚s Power House label
with „Swoop.‰ It‚s contemporary German electronic dub with a spasming
bassline and computer bleeps.
This release is a real revelation, since I seldom hear music which
explicitly links hip-hop with dub. Since Kool DJ Herc switched to funk
breaks, a real
schism has developed between the two sounds, but it‚s good to know
Berliners are still capable of making the connection.

Thanks Bruno
Knowing how you dig 'NCR' , you just may find the rest of that Album
( the '82 Factory America album) up your darkened street .
For us it was just what was around us in end of '70's bleaked out NYC transitioning into early '80's , the city was pretty down on it's heels ,
muggers who would carve out your bk pocket to get at your wallet.
Ya had to hang on to yourself .
The Reviews have been fun , great and i can guess already more people are listening to
Ike Yard now then did bk in 1980 -'82.
Just came bk in from giving a bunch of CD's to groupmate Diekmann who lives close by,
we are now talking about getting together to jam when I return from J -land.
Cheers and keep ridin '

Party for the new Delic CD release Pieces 2 here in Shibuya on Sunday the 24th at Nanzuka Underground.
We went by to ck the place last night , an underground office by day (MicroOffice) , pumping bass sound system sometimes by night ...
could feel the bass moving the air in front of the speakers.
It`s been so busy, almost crazy here . sometimes a struggle between resting for a while and heading bk out into Tokyo for another great dinner or another person to meet.
Now have the feeling that I could live here and that this is where I should be now
Nice, that
Cheers all

No doubts now that Tokyo is where i gotta be.
There is so much going on here (now 'there') and this time , my 10th trip
i finally got real roots down to do some next werks.
Party Sunday night went great,
plans to do another version of the old VideoVoudou LD that Ak/Kodansha/EMI released bk in '92 after the Video Drug series with Ukowa from Mixoffice,
DCC/Ike Yard/Dominatrix live Tokyo 2007 ,
DCC live Japan 2005 CD -DVD through Delic ,
and good solid interest in the Diaries of a Nightclubber 1980 -1990 stirred up.
I do recommend a trip to Japan ( and Asia in gen) for anyone who hasn't yet done so.
For the food alone ...

Next up DCC off to Amiens Fr for Oct.7 White nights gig on the docks there with
James Chance (and hopefully The Contortions) and last i heard, Liquid Liquid.
Received email from promoters informing us of a dinner eve of the 6th 'at a typical French restaurant' with Chance , Gavin & Delia and others .
Would be cool if Donny Christensen (Contortions drummer /IMPLOG creator) is there so i can say thanks for his cuts on Noise 3.
Hoping to meet up with Senagalese rapper from Daara J in Paris post gig as we run around town for a couple days .

Will be preparing Apt. for subletting in order to do next Tokyo jaunt ASAP.
Got to get bk there
