Picked up this comp for a couple of quid on the basis of its great cover (look at pre-Wizzard Roy Wood tee hee) and Mark E Smiths insistence that they were an inspiration. The music within is incredibly lumpy/lumpen.

Any The Move fans out there who know anything more?

i have that comp... i like some of the songs on there - "brontosaurus"!

but i prefer their LP "shazam"- with an even better cover

musically i don't see any connection to The Fall though, if that's what you're looking for- shazam is more like glam-prog-rock pop mini-operas. "cherry blossom clinic"- a crazed masterpiece in my book. stomping glam-rock beat with orchestra breakdown. "hello suzie" also...

I keep checking these guys out because people tell me "they are so much better" everytime I talk about liking ELO but nothing's hit me yet. Tried with a solo Wood (Mustard) too but so far I'm not really feeling that either. I've still got hope, but I've not come across the song yet.
