I've just read his obit in the Indie. I'm amazed - he's been around since forever and seemed unburstable. I only met him once - at a MacUser awards dinner where I got pissed with Charles Shaar Murray and talked about Led Zeppelin. Tyler came along later, exhuded bonhomie, and at last led his friend off for a smoke.
He was one of the greats of rock journalism, as well as of technology punditry. It's a terrible loss.
