The sad joke that is indie rock in 2006

It could be real. I'm not sure if it necessarily matters or not.

Well it matters in the sense that the Playlouder people are uncritically presenting it as a real scoop rather than just a moderately witty concept review.

Seems a bit fake to me...I imagine this sort of stuff gets said often enough though.
Somebody should make an indie Spinal Tap, that would be funny.

from speaking to friend's pretty deep in the indie scene

you can compare the kooks representing indie

to pendulum represent dnb

to 50 cent representing hip hop...

etc

...presumably nick southall wrote the piece ;)

Someone I know is trying to break in to the world of being a camera man, last week he had a day's work filming drummers who were auditioning to be in the Kooks (and also filming bassists who were audtioning for another band or maybe it was the other way around). The band weren't there. I guess that they had a lot of applicants and maybe they will see the ones that they liked best in the flesh before a final selection but it seems a strange way to go about it to me. Does anyone know if that's the normal procedure with these kind of things?
