There are many good tracks on there, and I like that they span a wide array of genres. Some of the blends are nice, too (especially the Ready for the World/Loefah one). I am not equally fond of the sequencing and the mixing, however; it is hard to be specific, but the Baby Ford track (this blend is nice too, by the way), for example, comes in far too abruptly, there is no narrative ushering it in. I hope this was of any help.

thanks guybrush, I appreciate you taking your time to listen and comment. this mix was assembled with a dual purpose: to demonstrate my skills and selection for possible club/bar employment, and for casual listening. to keep things moving (ie. simulate the dancefloor) I chose to be a little less considerate than usual about transistions. I'm now realizing, though, that having a 2 minute intro might not be a good idea in that light...

If you want to impress bar owners I strongly suggest you put great effort into getting the transitions super-smooth (maybe even with a bit of Cubase help). I find that the less a person knows about music/dancing (i.e. your average bar owner), the more they judge a DJ’s skills on the smoothness and quickness of the mixes.

already passed a few cds out, so I'll wait and see what that yields, and if I don't get a good response I'll set out to rework some bits. thanks for your suggestions guybrush!
