Obviously not trying to be comprehensive or broadly eclectic. Just some of my favourite tunes from '71. Highly mixed, with lots of segues/overlapping, but ultimately it still feels like a "song-based" mix. Probably nothing surprising for Dissensians, but I've got the sendspace up so I figured I might as well post it.

Thanks, all. Hope it can live up to the individual components.

I dig mixing like this--pop songs in with atmospheric/instrumental works--because if someone listens with speakers, with partial attention, or at low volume, they're likely to hear a song compilation; headphones or more attention make it more experiential. So hopefully it can fly for people who prefer one or the other--or the mood of someone who likes both.

Rambler--I can't resist using those tracks in lots of mixes over the years. Nico also seems to work well enmeshed with other pieces.

My hope is that as you listen, you'll forget that the tracks all come from one year. . .

Should I try to work Stevie Wonder's "Look Around" in? Ditto Led Zeppelin's cover of "When the Levee Breaks" (the one track of theirs that's hard to deny--pretty rad production, honestly). . .

And if so, anyone see any space? Or candidates for replacement?

finally listened to this. Fantastic. Many thanks once again.
Here's hoping that 1961 or 1991 might be next...

'61 and '91 are both definitely more outside my most frequented range (unless I focused in on Jazz for '61). I was actually thinking '72 or '74 were probably up next. . .

Not bad. Needs more Sabbath. :)

Did debate that with myself, along with the Led Zeppelin. . . Perhaps if I did it again.
