This is just a quick sketch I did, skittery stuff and atmospherics, from a few-second clip of an acoustic guitar piece I did a while back. It reminds me of something, but I'm not sure what. Maybe just soundtrack music?

The atmospherics remind me of things off the New Albion label - Deep Listening Band, Ingram Marshall, that sort of thing. Maybe also William Basinski with the crackly stuff?

Current-ish (late 80s onwards), but readily available. If you go to the new Albion website I think most of their CDs have at least one (good length) sound sample, well worth a browse. Quite a few of their things are available on eMusic too, which is where I get my fix.

Basinski I'm sure you know - The Disintegration Loops, etc?

I read about 'The Disintegration Loops' at the time, but haven't heard them. Truth is, I'm pretty ignorant of just about anything in any musical genre recorded after the late/mid-90s.

(Wow--Basinkski is managing to sell CD-Rs for $20? Justifiably?)
