Soulseek on macs

I tried to get soulseek running on my ibook last year, and never quite got there. Does soulseek work well with macs (and I'm just thick and don't know macs very well), or is it not worth bothering over? I can't help but feel I'm missing out, having no access to free music except the occassional zip file one of you dissensus people tosses up on sendspace.

Thanks for your help.

the problem with nicotine is you have to compile it and run under x11, not the best solution in my opinion (though it is stable and has a nifty auto-message function).

nomadologist, i've used ssx for a couple of years now with zero trouble, a very worthy client. the default transparency taxes cpu/memory a bit, turn that off and you're set.

I'll second soulseeX - been a while since it was updated, but runs lovely on my MacBook Pro. Took me a while to work out the interface which is very un Mac-like - most of the necessary stuff is in the right/control clicking.
