A very dear old friend of mine Olivia is a painter, and shes just getting better and better. Her last show she gave people disposable cameras and asked them to wander around the Thames Shore and take photos which she turned into these huge pictures. The results were lovely but the theory i thought a bit spotty.

This time however shes given the disposable camera to a blind guy called Robert (a mate of hers) and told him to take photos around his house. The results are stunning:

She has a show on at the JK Gallery, 18 Belsham Street, London E9 6NG (07958 036 771) The gallery is open from Saturday 22nd Jan (Open Sat, Sun and Mon 12.00-8.00pm) Be there!

the work is olivia's carved & painted wooden reliefs based on robert's photos, very textural & tactile & theoretically unspotty imho
rewch's fave: 'there's a squirrel in that tree somewhere' series

highly recommended!
