I've just watched 'Verucca Boy' with the sound off (I'm at work!) - don't take this as criticism in the slightest, but it's one of the most gloriously disturbing animations I've seen since Chorlton and the Wheelies. Have you ever thought about doing horror stuff? Love the cigarette smoke as well

ha! cheers martin. no i've never thought of doing horror. it has always kinda frightened me.

i love the roadbuilding film. the movement and detail is as hypnotically entrancing as the action is gloriously prosaic, and the esquivel soundtrack is fantastically groovy. not exactly a stiff critique i know!

Verucca boy reminded me of those weird short animations they'd show on channel four late at night in the early nineties, I loved those as a kid.
