gay references in rap lyrics

I was listening to Who We Be by DMX last night and there's a part of the song where he says, "My wife, my kid, the life that I live; Through the night, I was his, it was right, but I did" Am I missing something or is he admitting he's had sex with a man (possibly while in prison?). Anyone else know of other similar references (obviously I know about the many anti-gay sentiments expressed in hip hop lyrics)?

Bit off subject but there's a gay hip hop night at heaven in charing cross thats mental... real good music but none of the normal macho head nodding business that normally is the main attitude at hip hop parties, cant remember what its called or when it is but i ended up there late once and it proper went off!

Hmm, nicely spotted! A very meaningful and poetically appropriate inference, it adds a whole level of dirty streets-is-real reality-gloom to the otherwise bland tales of thug woe. My immediate assumption on seeing those lyrics would be that "his" was in fact "His", viz, The Lord, Lawd, God, Jesus etc.

That reminds me of a nice little bit of gaudy Catholicism that can be found in the Clipse's 'Virginia':
"I turned to the Lord when the times got rough/
Powder through the streets I push then I shove/
But my faith and my money helped me rise above"
(Thats from memory, not sure its 100%.)
