good film, yeah. nice use of that Yes track in the strip joint scene. perhaps they'll reform to headline the sunday night.

hang about 'Yes' track I thought it was all his own music in that film? didn't sound like Yes anyhow????
Have you heard his music? He couldn't write that Yes tune...

Come on, you haters! Vincent Gallo is the king. Just buy his one-song, 2'25" EP "So Sad" for 4 pounds and learn the meaning of genius! Or maybe you really should just download it, on second thought.

But the man is fucking great - we need more ridiculous, obtuse, life as art shit around here. Buffalo 66 was one of the most startling and painful films I've seen, his music is delightful, he plays a pussy-eating cannibal in Trouble Every Day , he does a beautiful rendition of "Moon River" live etc etc etc. Vincent is killing it on a daily basis out there.

I saw Vincent Gallo play at ATP last year. I had quite high hope, cos I'd read some decent reviews.

It was therefore the most disappointing musical experience of my life. Awful awful awful awful awful. Sounded like the sort of wank I used to play as a teenager when I'd just bought a new effects pedal for my guitar, except this went on for about an hour. At least my mum had the sense to tell me when to shut up.

Check out who's curating ATP in the UK next year- two weekends, with curating split between Sleater Kinney, Mudhoney, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Shins, Ween, and someone even worse.

Arghhhhh.

Anyone here see Brown Bunny?

I was hoping it would be as good as Buffalo 66, but sadly it was just really dull and pointless and completely lacked any plot whatsoever. He could have made it about 10 minutes long but stretched it into a full-length movie full of nothing. It was humorless and the only thing that made it even somewhat interesting was the "infamous" BJ scene. It would have been a better movie if he had done a full-on porno, which he has hinted at in some interviews.

as a movie, Brown Bunny is dull, no doubt about that, though I wouldn't call it "pointless"...(the blowjob scene neatly ties it all together)...but if considered visual art, Brown Bunny is quite successful, simply gorgeous to look at...like David Lynch, Gallo's film work favors the look, or the "feel", over plot line/narrative, and I find it stunning...the visual equivalent of ambient music...

I used to find the "music" of Tomas Koner boring, until I adjusted my perception of it...
