Paris recommendations

Alfons

Way of the future
Going to paris in a couple of weeks with my girlfriend (Paris France not Texas ). Looking for recommendations for music stuff; record shops, clubs, concert venues. Ive gotten most of the touristy type of stuff covered but can't seem to find much info on music related stuff (in english anyway).

The few things that have been mentioned to me Betino and the lazy dog record stores, the rex club and Nouveau Casino. Any info would be much appriciated!

My insights are a few years old, but things don't generally move that fast in Paris... ;)

For clubs, try Batofar, Elysee Montmartre (also for concerts)....Zenith for gigs, and also the outside area at Porte de Pantin has loads of free music on the weekend.....Fleche d'Or in the 20eme used to be good for reggae, jungle etc....

Pere Lachaise seconded ... what a stroll
Nouveau Casino was a good gig spot , nice owner , good location and range of shows.
Have really enjoyed the last times there, have a great time !

pigalle is or was fun to see, a lot of smut shops with names like sex-o-drome and things like that. probably not the best place to take your girlfriend, though (that scene in taxi driver comes to mind).
