Is there any books out there as good as Irvine Welsh or Chuck Palahniuk?
Since there are lots of collage educated types here i had to ask.

I'd really, really recommend Glamorama by Bret Easton Ellis, not so hot on his other work but that one's a fucking blinder.

Kind of educated in various unconnected bits you mean? Sounds about right.
Is the new Palahniuk one called Rant out yet? I enjoyed that more than all of his others but I guess it doesn't really answer your question.
Seconded on Brett Easton Ellis, I think he's always good though and kinda similar to those two in some ways.
There is a book called Brass by Helen Walsh that is in a style very very similar to Irvine Welsh right down to the way she writes accents and has similar subject matter. I think it's the only book she's done and it's a bit derivative and naive but I remember enjoying it.
