I just dont know
What are the leading texts on the historical development of US dance music post-1970? Preferably (pretty much necessarily really) with broader societal reflections...

I understand that Energy Flash covers Chicago and Detroit to some degree and I plan to get that, but I'd like something non-UK orientated, with as much depth as possible

Further, any isolated articles anyone thought particularly good, whether from academia, press or the internet, would be very welcome
