CHBB (Liaisons Dangereuses) - 4 Cass. Eps 1981 (now with '85 demos download)

Somewhere I once heard a really shoddy quality mp3 rip of the cassette series from 1981 by CHBB (aka Liaisons Dangereuses). Four cassettes, one track per side, all called "untitled," all running 5:00 (if you believe discogs.com). And while I don't pretend to know a lot about the history of electronic dance music after about 1984--as I remember, the stuff was clearly bizarrely out of time. Moreso than say E2 E4 or Monoton or Weltklang. I mean it was basically straight up out of 1989, and really ace.

So did I imagine it? Does anyone know anything about the series of four cassettes? Anyone ever actually heard them all? Anyone got mp3s they'd like to share? Any information would be of great help.

I've heard some "1985 demos" which are pretty mad in their own right, if anyone would like to hear those I've still got them. . .

Hey Soundslike
No, you didn't imagine them,
When last talking to Beate about them ( I'm curious too) at lunch Oct. 2005 Berlin,
she still wanted to 'officially' release them in cassette form.
Haven't heard the music , and I am thinking to try to get that music out by helping her find a deal.
Would be super interested in hearing the '1985' demos,
had stayed with Chrislo in W Berlin '83 and all the LD /Beate's Oberheim gear was still set up and being used.

Cor, this is good!

:)

Isn't it? I just played it too, properly nasty it is. Time for another beer and another listen, I think.

Edit: hahaha, is it me or could the pulsing synth halfway through track 7 be the beginning of either Kim Wilde's 'Kids In America' or Pulp's 'Common People'? :)

Must be all that classic analogue gear. So many of the sounds are familiar from other things.

Irriter Les Esprits = a more rhythmic Cluster II.

Soundslike, thanks for the download :)

You do realize that you watch so much porn that the auto-popup ad that accompanied your download was a particularly charming set of "erotic video" that ended up crashing my computer. You may want to reset your cookies ;)

Watch some porn with the sound down while listening to Liaisons Dangereuse...a truly Dissensian take on smut...it was clearly 'meant to be'!

I'm afraid I can't even fathom what the second part of this means, but I'm pretty sure I haven't been watching any porn--none that I know of is yet set to Stockhausen or Can ; )

Glad you're digging the tunes, in any case!

Haha--gave the link a try, and I didn't get porn, but I did get a fraudulent website on getting a U.S. greencard. Not sure what to think about that. . .

Listening to these again. . .

Now I *really* want to hear those '81 tracks, because I swear I remember them being just as insane.
