After two great albums 'Masquerades and Sillouettes' and 'Its all happening now',
Lewis Parker seems to have left the building. So I ask, Whatever happened to Lewis Parker ?

id say the fact that half the tunes you hear out have never been near a non computer keyboard has a lot to do with it. theres is an amazing long piano solo at the end of carl craig's d+g revelee mix though.

That kind of thing, yeah.

Used to love the tunes with lots of pianner in them - walking basslines, quality chord progressions and florid solos. Roger Sanchez remixes used to have good solos on them.

Some of these tunes had so much work put into them - yer standard peaks and troughs would be produced by painstaking orchestration of strings, piano and horn sections (whether real or synthetic) rather than snare rolls or fecking filter twiddling. And the tracks would be long affairs, with a real progression from start to finish:

that lovely remix on that francisco tristano mix on infine label by mr craig is almost entirely a big piano solo - in a kind of acoustic strings of life style.
