the show was being advertised as a battle and just did their regular set. The Force MCs had prepared routines dissing Cold Crush and won over the crowd. Words were exchanged between the crews later.

the 86 summit, in particular the Caz vs Melle Mel (for obvious reasons), I've always been a massive Cold Crush fan so any of those.
Any of the T-Connection sets.

i would have killed for any one of these when i was a teenager checking dodgey classifieds in the source. i can't really get over how the internet makes (a variety of) instant cultural literacy possible - the sort of stuff that you really had to dig and dig and dig for in the past. now it's like the kung fu bit in the matrix.

Listening to the DJ battles and the flows it's such a blast (a perfect companion to John Eden's Saxon clashes thread)... Interesting to hear the early disco-breaks stuff aswell.
