In short im in full agreement. I cant speak for vinyl but some cd pressings are so compressed that any prolonged listening on headphones in tiring on the ears. The richness is lost once the volume goes over a certain level. Is music pressed to sound good through PC speakers and low quality headphones ?

In this thread there's pleasing writing about how one of the djs don't play tunes if they are too loud. It's so delightful to read that, when the general practice with djs is the opposite way, not playing tunes which are too quiet...
