there are no accidents
although enjoyable in a harmless wallpaper dark ambient noodles kind of way, and save for a few moments of genuine alien beauty on the last 3 tracks, is pretty lackluster and forgettable.

guess Genesis didn't get the memo that just being generally creepy and weird isn't really enough anymore... oh well.

Aha, is there a title on this new one ?
They just played their first show here and then Coachella.
Was curious how they were faring after seeing photos of the recent NYC show ...

that's the tour-only cd they just put out, so perhaps not representative. the last proper tg album -- "part two: the endless knot" -- was pretty decent. certainly not the aggro-industrial sound of the past, but worth a listen.

i guess we can't expect them to again invent 8 genres that will rule the next 3 decades like they did with 20 Jazz Funk Greats.

just heard the very first musical object Genesis ever released, an EDIT: LP from EDIT: 1968 or so...

anyway had no idea he was so down with Arabic and East Asian (and others can't remember right now) traditional music. it's like a noise/global sound collage...
